Expanding the conformist, traditionalist uses of film beyond its intended purpose has always been essential to the operations of my practice. The imperfections of an image are the base of narrative- where the story can be told and feeling can be evoked. Focus where there should be none, and none where there should be focus, changes our expectations of the image and challenges what is known.
